As a fine furniture maker for the past 30 years, David very soon came to realise the importance of working with exceptional materials and so he decided 17 years ago to venture into milling his own timber and first purchased his Bandsaw Mill!  "I have never looked back.  This allowed me to cut trees to the specific sizes I  wanted and to showcase the concealed beauty within the logs, to their best advantage".

"A lot of my timber was quarter-sawn for stability.  Through this process, the realisation evolved that I was capable of cutting superb quality, quarter-sawn, instrument grade timbers.  About 5 years ago I started sorting and putting aside specialty timbers for Luthiers, air-drying it and accumulating enough stock to start an on-line Guitar Timbers store to supply instrument makers".
